The bakery is a third generational run bakery,   founded in 1890 by Aramis Bermudez, born in Cuba and operated the largest bakery chain in Cuba, until 1979 when forced to flee Cuba during Castro take over. Today, third-generation owner Jose Bermudez is keeping Aramis's dream alive in New York City, by producing Cuban bread daily.
